The Call

I just finished reading the Larry Moses book, “The Call” What a marvelous story Dr. Moses has woven into this work. I had remembered on one of our soiree into the back country he had told me about his Master Thesis on the Willie Handcart Company. Apparently the work was left hanging from Iowa City to Salt Lake City on $42.00.
This work “The Call” is the story of Alice Kincade and her gentile husband Thomas coming to Zion with Captain Willie and the handcart company. They learn much, most important, the role of Family in this life. I have a special interest in this work because my Great Great, Great Grandmother Priscilla Griffiths was part of this

This is where she is buried in Joseph Utah. She was a young single girl who Marries William Willes when she arrives in SLC. William had been on a mission to Siam where his companion was Levi Savage. This man is a friend to Thomas in Doc’s book “The Call”

This is a Picture of the Great, Great, Great Grandson of George Willie. This is Paul Willie who lives in Cache Valley Utah. We met back in Kearney Neb at a handcart reunion in 2006. We were grateful that our ancestors had made the great sacrifices that we may enjoy this great world today.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story of family, love, sacrifice and the importance of answering our individual calls here in this life. God bless you Larry Moses for bringing this great story to life.
The book can be located on lulu.com or found at Books Etc.
